Our friendly Support Workers are available to safely transport you to appointments, visits and trips out. This might be shopping or a GP appointment.
The support your Support Worker provides can be particularly reassuring if you’re anxious about facing medical consultations or new and challenging situations alone.
Time and Distance
There are no limits to where you can go – you would just need to discuss the arrangements with your Support Worker, especially with any visits that may be outside of your regular visits. You can use your time to go wherever you may need. This could be a medical appointment, lunch, to the shops or day out. One of our customers has recently had their Support Worker accompany them on a day trip to Jersey!
Paying for Mileage Costs
Mileage costs for transport, trips and out and going shopping are not included in your Support Worker’s hourly rate and will be charged in addition. It is best to pre-agree this with your Support Worker so you are both aware of these arrangements prior to any trips.
